Cyfarthfa Castle Museum/Joseph Parry's Cottage

The Education Officer at Cyfarthfa Museum will facilitate your visit, using the new Canolfan Cyfarthfa centre as a base, your school visit will learn about all aspects of the industrial revolution, social history (your visit can also include Joseph Parry's cottage) and some exciting extras about Merthyr Tydfil which you may not know!

Dolygaer Outdoor Education Centre

For those outdoor, team building pursuits, Dolygaer is ideally situated on the outskirts of Merthyr Tydfil/Brecon Beacons national park, providing an excellent value for money visit.

 

At Dolygaer we are experienced in catering for school groups through our outdoor education programmes for schools.

Our experienced and qualified staff can organise a wide range of activities which follow current national curriculum guidelines to provide "learning by doing" for the children (and adults). Acitvities can be arranged to contribute to learning across the core subjects.

 

Not only will they gain new knowledge and skills but also gain self confidence and self esteem in a unique educational environment.

Rock UK Summit Centre

The newly reopened Summit Centre (previously Welsh Climbing Centre) compliments Dolygaer in its outdoor activity provision for students of all ages and abilities, and will be developed along with Parc Taf Bargoed to provide an all round learning experience.

 

Rock UK is a great place for school trips. As well as offering great outdoor adventurous activities and the opportunity to expend some physical energy, we also have the facility to offer Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) sessions. We have found these to be fantastic ways for young people of all ages to absorb information and to learn and explore.
