Fostering Adopting and Looked After Children

Foster Care Fortnight is an annual campaign to raise the profile of fostering. It is the UK’s biggest foster carer recruitment campaign.

This year, Foster Care Fortnight 2014 will take place from Monday 12th to Sunday 25th May.

Fostering provides an alternative family environment for children and young people who are, for some reason, unable to live with their own families for a period of time.

There is a real shortage of foster carers in Merthyr Tydfil and with this in mind we hope to raise awareness of fostering in order to recruit more foster carers, therefore enabling more vulnerable children and young people in Merthyr to have access to a safe, caring family environment.

Fostering transforms the lives of our most vulnerable and neglected children and young people.
