Abandoned vehicles - reporting and procedures
Abandoned Vehicles

The council will investigate reports of abandoned vehicles and if appropriate arrange the removal of the vehicles from the highway and other areas of land.

During 2009/10 we received 77 reports of abandonded vehicles this is a reduction on previous years because owners are not dumping cars but recovering their scrap value.

If you see an abandoned vehicle please contact us, with the details of the vehicle e.g. type, colour and it's location.

If you own a car which needs disposal contact us under the amnesty scheme for its free collection.

We work closely with the South Wales Police and the Fire Service to attempt to identify owners of vehicles which have been deliberately abandoned or stolen and where possible enforcement against the person responsible will be taken. The Councils' contractor will collect the vehicle and dispose of it properly.

To report a vehicle which your believe to have been abandoned or you want your car removed, use the contact details below.
