Tourist signs

The 'white on brown' tourist type signs have now been in use for over 10 years and are recognized both nationally and internationally. These signs are intended to direct (rather than attract) visitors.

The signs are usually requested  by the owner of the establishment and provided subject to Council policy criteria being met. The consent of the Welsh Government is required if signs are requested on a Trunk Road.

Eligibility for signs can be discussed with the Traffic Management Section who will issue an application form on request. If signs are approved by the Council then the applicant shall finance the design, manufacture, installation and subsequent maintenance of any signs.

A formal application shall be accompanied by an assessment fee to cover the cost of assessment by the Authority. This payment is non refundable.
