Through Digital TV

Bringing Council services into your living room

You can now access information about Council services via your digital television, your mobile phone or even your Nintendo Wii.  There is also a new iphone app now available.

Merthyr residents can now access a range of Council services, read local news, report issues such as pot holes and dog fouling and find out more information about areas such as Council Tax. Merthyr Looking Local also lets you search for jobs using the Job Centre Plus database.

This all Wales initiative means that people who do not necessarily have home internet access will be able to access a number of services similar to those offered on the Council’s official website, www.merthyr.gov.uk

There is now a free app available for this service through iPhones, iPads and the iPod Touch, which you can download from the iTunes App Store (search for Looking Local).

A key element of the app is the ability to 'Report It', which covers issues such as dumped rubbish, graffiti and potholes. You are able to map where the problem is, attach a photo and a comment and send it straight through to us.
