Fairtrade at the market!

Fairtrade is all about ensuring that the products you buy from developing countries, such as Africa, are traded fairly. That means that the workers are paid a fair wage and there is no child labour. Also money is invested into the community for projects to ensure there is clan water, schools, medical care, etc.

Since Merthyr Tydfil Town Centre was officially declared a Fairtrade Town by Mayor Ian Clark and Mark Richardson from the Fairtrade Foundation it has gone from strength to strength.

Not only can you buy a wide range of products at the market,  the team of volunteers running the stall are also are giving away FREE Fairtrade tea and coffee at the market too. So if you are sceptical about the taste and quality, try before you buy. Samples of all the goodies on offer are available too.

There are a wide randge of goodies on offer, check out our traders page to find out what's available this month.

If you are interested in becoming involved in the campaign then please contact Harri Evans on (01685) 725463.
