Communities First - Making it WorkThere are three stages under Communities First:
Preparatory Activity:
This allows for the development work needed prior to the implementation of the programme and typically includes the recruitment of dedicated staff and the establishment of the Partnership.
Capacity Building:
Builds on preparatory activity and allows for the community and its partner agencies to receive the range of funding and support needed to engage fully in the programme.
Community Action Planning:
Preparatory activity and capacity building to allow for the setting-out of what the community wants and how it is to be delivered. Community Action Planning has a longer-term vision with medium and short-term goals.
