Working with the Voluntary Sector

Voluntary organisations and community groups play a vital role delivering services and providing resources to local communities.  Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council (MTCBC) is committed to developing good working partnerships with voluntary and community groups throughout the borough to complement and maximise the impact of the voluntary sector’s work.

The Merthyr Tydfil Local Compact with the Voluntary Sector  is a framework which lays out the partnership between MTCBC and the voluntary sector.

MTCBC works closely with Voluntary Action Merthyr Tydfil (VAMT) at both strategic and operational levels to develop effective working which will have long term benefits for the voluntary sector and communities in the County Borough. For more information on VAMT's work please visit: www.vamt.net

The Merthyr Tydfil Voluntary Sector Liaison Committee oversees this process and has specific responsibility for approving grants to voluntary organisations from the Merthyr Tydfil Development Fund. The relationship with the voluntary sector is managed by the External and European Funding team at MTCBC.
