Road Safety Theatre in EducationTheatre in Education has become a popular approach to raising awareness of Road Safety issues. It is a powerful medium for communicating road safety messages as well as making road safety education more fun.
Each year regular productions are held in primary and secondary schools through out the County Borough.
Theatre companies commissioned by the authority in 2006 were:
Box Clever Theatre Company with their production of "The Buzz" which dramatically presents the devastating impact of speed and unsafe driving on the lives of two young people. The company visited Merthyr Tydfil Technical College, Afon Taf High School and Bishop Hedley High School.
and:
Tiny Giants Productions Ltd with 10 performances of "Baron Chance & the Invincibles" aimed at primary age children and shows the audience that they are in control of their own fate by making the right choices and not take risks on the road.
