Scrutiny Reports & Reviews Scrutiny Reports
Scrutiny Committees do not have decision making powers but are uniquely placed to influence the decision making process as their recommendations are based on evidence and therefore difficult to dismiss.
Scrutiny works by taking a close look at a specific policy or service area and, after finding out the views of stakeholders, the scrutiny members make recommendations to the decision maker, usually the Council's Cabinet, for improvements (where necessary).
