Childcare - Out of School HoursOut of School services enable school aged children to play, learn and have fun in groups.
They are usually based in or near schools and more are being set up to help families with working parents.
Out of school services can be registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) http://www.csiw.wales.gov.uk// and are inspected annually. They are run by a team of staff, usually called playworkers.
There are different types of out of school childcare, so pick a service which will suit you and the needs of your child.

What are the different types of out of school service?
- Breakfast clubs open in the morning before schools start.
- After school clubs open in the afternoons and usually operate until 6.00pm
- Holiday playschemes operate during the school holidays. Opening times will vary.
