Developing our Employees
At Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council we are committed to maximising the potential of our employees to allow them to provide the highest standard of service delivery.
In line with the Government’s Lifelong Learning Strategy, we support and encourage both personal and professional development. We offer a range of training and development mediums and opportunities to enable this development
We offer:
- A comprehensive range of Training and Development programs; which we provide in partnership with local Training providers/consultants.
- In conjunction with outside business partners who facilitate Team Leader and Senior Management training.
- We are currently in the process of developing a graduate developmental program.
- Sponsor employees to complete secondary and further education courses, such as , HNC/D Degree, MSC, MBA etc.
- Assist employees in completing nationally recognised qualifications such as B-Tec National Certificates/ Diploma, NVQ's.
- Our Human Resource Development Team offer an internal Training Consultancy service to divisions and regularly provide tailor-made training solutions via workshops in order to further support team development and team building events.
- Our Human Resource Development Team continually work with all council services to identify and anticipate training needs at individual, team and organisational level. The HR team enable ways of meeting these needs; which ensure the development is both effective and cost-efficient, in line with the principles of Best Value and Best Practice.
