Description:
This post is a key and integral part of the Integrated Children’s Service’s senior management team, and is currently one of only two senior officers working with the Director. The position will become vacant on 1st April, 2010, when the current holder retires. The post is wide reaching and covers a diverse area of responsibility including both school improvement and additional learning needs. Effective partnership with schools and governing bodies built on good communication, mutual support and respect is a prerequisite.
The post holder will provide strong management and leadership qualities in achieving results by teamwork, partnership, commitment and making timely decisions.
The post includes leadership of professional education support services, including the Education School Improvement Service [ESIS] and the Unified Education and Child Psychology Service.
Develop the service within the new LA structure and set priorities for improvement as part of the Quarterly Business Review.
Develop an action plan to address the recommendations from recent Estyn/Wales Audit Office inspection of the LEA.
Lift overall levels of achievement and attainment throughout the County Borough.
Meet needs of vulnerable children, young people and their families.
