Cymorth FundingCymorth is a fund for targeted support set up by the Welsh Assembly Government to make life better for thousands of children, young people and families right across the county.
Cymorth helps develop preventative services in six priority areas:
- Family support and parenting
- Health Promotion
- Childcare
- Play, leisure and enrichment
- Empowerment, Participation and Active Citizenship
- Training, mentoring and information.
The amount allocated to Merthyr for 2006/2007 is £1,651,787 and is administered by the Children and Young People's Partnership, which provides strategic direction to ensure projects address local needs. The Cymorth Plan describes how the funding is being used to improve services.
