Young People's Complaints Consultation |
A Children First grant was awarded to Merthyr Tydfil Young People's Partnership which enabled the Partnership to undertake consultation around complaints and counselling.
Over seventy young people from school councils within the Merthyr Tydfil Borough gave us useful information and plenty of ideas on how we could make it easier for children and young people to complain about the services that effect them, including education, health and social services.
The Welsh Assembly Government has provided us with a report on the consultation exercise and includes what young people across Wales said as part of the consultation.
With the help of the young people involved, we were able to produce the first Merthyr Tydfil Children & Young Peoples Partnership newsletter. The newsletter gives young people useful information about making a complaint and has been distributed to all young people in our secondary schools.
In thanks for their help, each school council was given £100 to spend on making it easier for children to complain when they need to.
