Approved Childcare in the Family Home
In April 2007, a new scheme was introduced which enables parents/carers to use approved "nannies" in their own home. Parents/carers who use Approved home based childcare will be able to apply for tax credits or tax benefits associated with childcare vouchers.
Where relatives care for the child in the home they are not deemed eligible carers for the purpose of eligibility for tax credits and other tax benefits associated with childcare voucher schemes.
