Education Inclusion Education Inclusion has been developed over time for pupils, who for whatever reasons, have found full-time attendance at school difficult. They may have been excluded, or seen to be at risk of exclusion, or they may have medical or emotional difficulties preventing full school attendance.
Options Education Programme
This is an Education Programme which has been developed to provide a comprehensive programme of education for year 10 & 11 pupils identified as being at risk of exclusion or disaffection in terms of mainstream education. Options offers an expanding and continually diverse continuum of provision aimed at addressing the challenges of disengaged young people, whilst allowing them to continue their education and offering equal opportunities for success which are similar to those opportunities offered to their age related peers.
REALISE
Raising Educational Achievement Linking Industry & School Expertise
REALISE is a social inclusion project, which aims: -
- To prevent disaffected, disengaged and unfocused 14 – 18 year olds from drifting into the margins of their community.
- To develop a system for modifying and changing behaviour through partnership and diversity, the Local Education Authority facilitating the link between pupil, family, school and business.
Relevant Issues
- To identify Year 9 pupils at risk of exclusion or self – exclusion and engage with family, school and business to begin the programme of study and support.
- To draw up a behavioural contract at the beginning of Year 10 specifying what each party will bring to the partnership.
- To monitor and evaluate each pupil’s progress throughout the KS4 adapting the system of study and support appropriate to individual need.
- To provide a choice of progression routes into post 16 continuing to evaluate and support each pupil’s progress.
- To review and evaluate success measures for the social inclusion management system that take into account organisation and individual learning.

- To follow NVQ level 2 in either Business Administration or Information Technology in the business.

It was started in September 2002 and has been developed to assess the skills attainment of pupils within the Education Inclusion Programme, producing IEP's for each pupil. The KS4 Initiative has develop and implemented a literacy and numeracy plan using different teaching methods to cater for all learning styles.
