Every child who is looked after should have a PEP which establishes clear goals and acts as a record of progress and achievement. The PEP should be sensitive to the different needs of looked after children and should also provide a solution focused way to fulfil their potential.
Drawing up a PEP
The PEP is completed in partnership with the child or young person, designated teacher, parent and/or relevent family member, carer and any other relevant person (learning support assistant).
The PEP should be agreed as soon as possible, at the latest, within 20 school days of the child entering care or joining a new school. The PEP is reviewed concurrently with the Care Plan - within 28 days, 3 months, and 6 months.
PEP
Once each section of the PEP has been completed, it can be emailed to the LACES project to hold as a central updated copy which will then be disseminated accordingly to multidisciplinary team members
