How does it work?
The governing body of a school is a formal, legal entity that has certain areas of responsibility. The governing body delivers these responsibilities collectively as a whole, as smaller committees and occasionally as individual governors. The governing body and committees must set clear goals and objectives for the school and themselves. Their common focus is the development of children through the development and improvement of their school. The governing body is responsible for the strategic development of the school, not it’s day-to-day running.
