Merthyr Tydfil Association of School Governors
The role of the Association is to inform governors of what is happening locally and nationally from Governors Wales and within Merthyr Tydfil, the Welsh Assembly Government. As an Association we are consulted on all new legislation and initiatives and respond giving a governor’s perspective. The Association representatives sit on many committees within an education context including the Council Integrated Childrens Scrutiny Committee. Information is disseminated to all governing bodies via their designated link governor with the intention of sharing and promoting good practice. All governors throughout the county borough are invited to attend meetings, which are held termly with guest speakers in attendance.
