Dance Network Celebrating Dance In Merthyr Tydfil
Merthyr Tydfil Dance Network is a forum made up of community groups, youth groups, dance practitioners, Community Dance Wales, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council Arts Development and others, with an interest in dance development in Merthyr Tydfil.
The network was initiated in winter 2005 and continues, with support from Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council Arts Development.
In 2006, the first Merthyr Tydfil Dance Network - Dance Showcase took place, with resounding success, in the Dowlais Blast Engine House. The Showcase was repeated in 2007 at Rhydycar Leisure Centre during World Dance Day, 29th April. With the support from Dance Network members, the Merthyr Tydfil Dance Showcase will be repeated in 2008, continuing to support the development of dance within the county borough of Merthyr Tydfil, by giving local dancers the opportunity to exhibit and celebrate their art.
