Merthyr Tydfil County Show 08'The Show of Shows'
This year’s very successful and highly popular annual Municipal Special Event ‘The Merthyr Tydfil County Show’ will take place on Summer Bank Holiday Monday, 25th August 2008 at the ’Jewel in Merthyr Tydfil’s Crown’, Cyfarthfa Park, a 160 acre mixed parkland which forms a magnificent backdrop to Ironmaster William Crawshay’s castellated mansion - Cyfarthfa Castle. The Event is one of the most important of its kind in South Wales.
Because of free admission to the general public, it is expected that in excess of 10,000 persons will attend.
The Event has an emphasis on entertainment for the family/community, with a ‘Countryside’ flavour. This year’s Event will feature a Horse Show, Terrier & Lurcher Show, Exemption Dog Show, Lakeside Music Festival.
Also main arena artistes, including the famous and ever popular ‘Battling Cumberland Giants’ ; ‘Bozo & Zizi with Freddie the Fire Engine’ ; Birds of Prey & Gundogs Display ; ‘Teulu’ Re-enactment Society’ and ‘Valleys Radio Road show
