This building is awaiting major improvement in (to create a new entrance and adjust internal floor levels) and is generally unsuitable for wheelchair users at the moment.

We are in the process of improving the path and door to the lower ground level and have widened internal doorways to allow access to a new computer “Project Room” - this is currently our main “wheelchair” computer/Internet service point with three workstations, and provision for an extra Notebook with Internet access.

Dowlais Library has:

A chair lift at the rear stairs

A manual wheelchair on each level (to link with the chair lift)

New handrails at the front entrance

One of the national “Service Call” systems.

A separate (external button) call system at the lower gate.
