Discretionary ServicesWe provide some services to try to help out where we can and if we can. These services can be surprisingly time consuming or require hidden costs - like the microfilm reader/printers, so they cannot be provided free of charge and under some circumstances cannot be provided at all.
Fax messages
We prefer not to deal with faxes and are developing an easier online fax option using the public computers and scanners, but we are generally willing to send a receive faxes if it will help.
There are some conditions:
We have to fix a sticker or use a top copy message to make it clear that the message is nothing to do with us
We will check receipt, if we can, as part of the service, but we cannot accept responsibility for techical problems that are sometimes all too common with the fax system - especially when the receiving machine is faulty or unavailable.
Charges are as follows:
- Outgoing UK fax message page or senders page with sticker £1.25p. Additional A4 pages £1 each
- Outgoing overseas fax message page or senders pages with sticker £2.50p per page
- Incoming messages in batches of any part of 6 pages £1.50 per batch.
Lamination
We can only laminate material that originates from the library collection, but will do so if we can.
Microprints from reader/printers
- A3 and A4 copies are £1 each
