Mobile Libraries
Apologies:
Our mobile services will be changing, but despite some early publicity it won't be quite yet and at least for another few months it will be business as usual.
We apologise for any problems caused by that decision and thank those, like the Liberal Democrats in the Plymouth Ward, who recently tried to help us by publicising planned changes that we quickly realised could not take place in all of that form! We clearly didn't get this right and are openly acknowledge that because that is necessary part of a "learning process" for us.
We have begun to review the review and we will hopefully address all the things that have required this action. We took the judgement that it was better to do that than try to implement something that we quickly came to realise would not have worked in the best interests of the service or all of our existing customers. We are getting better all the time from what you tell us, but we can now prove that we are not yet perfect
Thank you for your patience. If you want to read more about the review please click here
Our Mobile Libraries visit all parts of the County Borough not served by a static library.

The larger Mobile Library vehicle |
We currently have three vans. All vehicles have a wheelchair lift although the interior of the smaller vehicle offers more restricted wheelchair access |

Until we introduced the computerised library system it could take 2-3 weeks to join. Now joining could not be easier or quicker. As long as you can prove who you are you can join and borrow immediately. |
