Annual Summer Reading Scheme |

Over the last two years we have seen increasing numbers of children joining our reading scheme, with almost double the number of children starting and finishing it in 2006.
This national reading scheme runs every year during the long summer holidays and each library runs special activities to encourage our readers to join in the fun.
Each children read a minimum of six books and is rewarded with a library fun pack with lots of goodies and an invitation to our end of scheme party. For the last two years this party has been held at Aberfan and Merthyr Vale Community Centre and has been split in a soft play and bouncy castle party for the younger children and a pool party with inflatable for the older children.

This years scheme starts during every July - please keep an eye out for information from the library and your school.
