Books are for Everyone Stories provide something that we can all enjoy and learn from.
Merthyr Tydfil Library has something for all levels of need, interest and "ability" so these pages are for anyone who wants to learn to read or just to use and develop any level of reading skills
For example, our "Quick reads" collection (more details and reviews below) includes some of the biggest names in fiction and non−fiction and provides an invaluable option for many different reading needs. For example:
- If you have limited time and want to read a bestseller the length of a magazine story, then Quick Reads are for you.
- If you know someone who would like to improve their English and grow in confidence while enjoying a good story, then Quick Reads are certainly for them.
The Quick read pages also include reviews from readers who are learning the "basic skills" of English and by learning to enjoy what they read. They are certainly not seeing "reading" as something to be endured
Perhaps you know someone with pre-school children who would like to improve their English. You could help them by telling them that we can lend them special collections of books and disks that they can use to learn with their child.
