Gateway-UK
Gateway is an initiative of Share the Vision and the Society of Chief Librarians with funding support from the Ulverscroft Foundation.
It aims to support people with sight problems, or help those who care for them.
Gateway will provide help with
1. Finding existing books in diverse formats.
2. Producing material in different formats.
3. Involving visually impaired people in library activities.
4. Finding suitable reading aids
Gateway will work with public libraries and organisations like Calibre Cassette Library, ClearVision, The National Library for the Blind and the Royal Institute of the Blind.
Development of this project is still at a very early stage, but if you or your family or friends are affected by sight problems it seems sensible for you to register an interest by contacting them
