Playing Fields

Below is a list of all playing fields within the Borough.

 FEES AND CHARGES 2006/2007 SEASON

PLAYING FIELD INSPECTIONS

Playing fields are inspected every Friday Morning and a decision is made as to their playability.                                                                                                               

The following scale will be used to judge surface wetness: -

(a)  Hard and cracked

(b)  Firm and dry but not cracked.

(c)  Firm and moist

(d)  Moist and soft

(e)  Squelchy in patches

(f)  Squelchy all over

(g)  Pools of standing water

(h)  Surface awash

NB.  Games will be called off if the fields are categorised as "(f)" to "(h)".  Where fields are categorised as "(e)", then as a guide, if the field has at least one third of its surface categorised as squelchy "(e)" the game should be called off (based on NPFA guidelines) .   Remember, one game played on a squelchy surface , at any time in the winter, may so damage the surface as to affect performance for the rest of the season.
