Highways Maintenance The Highways Department provides a wide range of services including Highways Maintenance, Street Lighting, Streetworks Management and Winter Maintenance.
We maintain 286 kms of highway and 7000 street lights throughout the County Borough of Merthyr Tydfil. We do not maintain the A465 Heads of the Valley Road, along with the A470 and A4060 which run through the Borough. These are Trunk Roads and the responsibility of the Welsh Assembly Government.
All roads, footways and street lights for which MTCBC are responsible are inspected regularly to ensure that they are maintained to a safe standard.
