Home Improvement AgencyA Home Improvement Agency has been set up in partnership with Care & Repair, which will provide a service for those who are unable to access grants. The service will include the preparation of a schedule of works and tender documents. The contractors will then be supervised by the Agency. A £50 flat rate fee will be charged in addition to 5% of the cost of the work.
The agency also operates a Handy Person Service, for which there is a charge of £17.00 per hour plus a charge for materials. Examples of the types of work which can be done under this scheme include:
- Repair/replacement of garden gates
- Repair/replacement of garden fences
- Repair/relay of garden paths
- Minor plumbing repairs
- General joinery work
- Fit doorbells
- Install stair rails/grab rails
- Fix curtain rails
- Building half steps
