Why do we need a Business Plan?A Business Plan is an essential tool in any business, and allows us to assess where we are in term of service delivery, and what investments are necessary to sustain these services.
Our plan is expected to reflect the investment required for the stock over a 10-year period which takes into account the achievement of the Welsh Housing Quality Standard by 2012.
Our Business Plan
Aims to assess the current and future investment needs of the public sector housing stock. Good business planning requires access to good information systems, and we have invested in a number of programmes to help us achieve our goals. To comply with S.87 of the Local Government Act, which requires each Local Authority in Wales to produce a Housing Strategy; a Local Housing Market Assessment has been undertaken. Our latest public sector stock condition survey has also provided us with detailed information on the quality of our stock, in fact it has confirmed that our previous planned investment has been effective, and that our stock is generally in good condition.
Our Business Plan has identified four key business priorities, and our priority targets include:
- Investment in the housing stock;
- Implementing a programme for improvement;
- Income generation; and;
- Continuous Improvement.
Each of these priorities originate from the Welsh Assembly Governments objectives, which also fit in well with the Corporate vision for a modern, efficient service that delivers good quality homes.
