Public Consultation on the Affordable Housing Delivery StatementIn the One Wales agreement, the Assembly Government has made a commitment to increase the supply of affordable housing by at least 6,500 homes between 2007 and 2011. As part of this agreement, local authorities are required to prepare a delivery statement for affordable housing consistent with their Local Housing Strategy.
One of the key aims of our Local Housing Strategy is the provision of affordable housing, specifically around increasing the supply of affordable housing in accordance with need as identified in our Local Housing Market Assessment.
The Affordable Housing Delivery Statement is an interim single purpose measure until the LDP is in place, and will be a material consideration afforded significant weight when determining planning applications for housing.
