Resident/Visitor Permit Schemes
The Council have introduced a number of on-street residential permit schemes which are reserved for nearby residential properties.
The schemes allow, 24 hours permit parking and enforcement which is the responsibility of South Wales Police (excluding Caedraw which will be enforced by MTCBC). As a result any vehicles found parked in these locations, without a valid permit can expect to be issued with a fixed penalty notice.
Residents of the streets specified in the scheme can apply for a permit (download application forms for Fox Street, Perrott Street, Dixon Street, Morgan Town,Zone A, Zone B and as from the 2nd July 2007 Caerdraw and cost £30 each. Restrictions for the number and types of permits which are available do vary from area. Entitlement details can be found on the application form.
When sending your application form please include the following:-
- Cheque for the appropriate fee – made payable to Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council.
- Residents Permit - A copy of you vehicle registration document, an insurance cover, etc (please note the document must including the residential address valid to the scheme and the vehicle registration
and/or
- Visitors Permits – Proof of residency e.g. rent book, electricity bill
