Building ControlFrom 1st October 2010 a new scheme of charges (The Building Local Authority Charges Regulations 2010) will be introduced, for all new Building Regulation Applications.
Building Control is responsible for issues concerning the health, safety and welfare of people in and about the built environment of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough. Our major role is overseeing legislation and standards relating to the Building Regulations, and we work with businesses, developers, architects, engineers, and members of the public, providing advice and guidance on achieving satisfactory standards for new buildings, and alterations and extensions to existing buildings.
The Building Control Department deals with three separate areas, Building Regulations, Dangerous Structures and Demolitions as well as providing technical advice to general members of the public and construction professionals.
