Abandoned Unwanted Vehicles
The council will investigate reports of abandoned vehicles and if appropriate arrange the removal of the vehicles from the highway and other areas of land.
During 2003/4 we removed 693 abandoned cars and that costed the Merthyr Tydfil Council ratepayers £18,500 for the removals alone before service costs.

If you see an abandoned vehicle please contact us, with the details of the vehicle e.g. type, colour and it's location. |

If you own a car which needs disposal contact us under the amnesty scheme for its free collection.
We work closely with the South Wales Police and the Fire Service to attempt to identify owners of vehicles which have been deliberately abandoned or stolen and where possible enforcement against the person responsible will be taken.The Councils' contractor will collect the vehicle and dispose of it properly.
