Water Supply Safe water supplies are a fundamental part of our public health expectations. The main supplier of water is Welsh Water (08000 520130) and all complaints about mains water should initially at least be directed to the supplier. However if they are unable to resolve your complaint please contact us here at Public Health.
Water pollution incidents such as contaminated rivers ponds and streams should be reported to the Enviroment Agency as quickly as possible tel 02920 770088
- The Authority maintains liason with welsh water and all disconnections and interuptions to supply are notified to us in Public Health for action if appriopriate.
- Welsh Water provide us with information on their monitoring checks on the supplies within the Borough.
- The department undertakes routine sampling of private water supplies which are not from mains water supplies which are used as a domestic supply as well as water supplies used in food manufacturers.
- All recreational and therapeutic water sources such as swimming pools etc are be routinely sampled to check for microbiological organisms.
