The Orbit Business Centre is a £5.5 million state-of-the-art facility, incorporating start-up offices, business support, training suites and large office space for existing businesses. The ultimate aim of the project is to contribute to increased wealth creation (and retention) within the County Borough of Merthyr Tydfil through stimulating and enabling the growth of higher Gross Value Added (GVA) businesses.
The vibrant and competitive culture created within Orbit Business Centre will result in the development of innovative, growth businesses leading to real economic benefits to the Borough of Merthyr Tydfil.
The highlight of this new Centre is on-site business support, providing the ideal environment for business owners to concentrate on developing their business to achieve and surpass their goals and identified targets.
Orbit Business Centre is ideally located in a prime position, just behind the Welsh Assembly Government building and opposite the new leisure complex currently being developed to provide a leisure centre, nine screen cinema, hotel, pubs, restaurants and cafés.
It has excellent road links, being alongside the A470, having good access to the M4 and a mere 30 minutes away from Cardiff! It is also near the improved A465 Heads of the Valleys Road – a major artery to the Midlands and West Wales.
This project is a joint venture between Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council and the Department for the Economy & Transport (DE&T) of the Welsh Assembly Government, and is being funded by Objective 1 European Regional Development Funds, DE&T, the Local Regeneration Fund, Heads of the Valley (HoV) and Merthyr Tydfil CBC.
