Residential Care and Respite Services

The Local Authority provides a range of high quality Residential Care and Respite Services within a variety of settings; all of which are tailored to suit your needs. Services available are provided on both a long or short term basis.

Residential Care

Whenever possible, we aim to provide you with the necessary support and access to services that will enable you to stay in your own home and remain as independent as possible. There may come a time, however; that you are no longer able to manage at home - even with addtitional support. If this is the case, you may need to consider Residential Care. Our Residential Care Services provide accommodation in a safe and comfortable environment, meals, personal care such as help with bathing and eating; as well as a range of facilities and activities.

Respite Care

Our Respite Services provide short-term care for older people, other adults with a disability or long-term illness. Its main purpose is to provide a break for both your carer and you.

The Authority has:

4 Residential Homes for Older Persons aged over 65yrs (2 of which have facilities to accommodate older persons with varying levels of dementia).
Residential and Respite services for both younger and older adults with a disability.
Residential, respite, support and rehabilitation services for adults who are recovering from poor mental health.
