News & Events Planning Event 2010
The theme for this years Supporting People event has been confirmed as ‘From Planning to Commissioning’ and it is hoped that the event will build on the work already taking place around improving planning and commissioning. We are awaiting a suitable date for the event in line with the changes to the planning bodies.
Floating Support Review
All adult services floating support is currently under review. The funding of these services has been secured for the next financial year but the review is aimed at streamlining our services in order to provide the best support possible for the money available from April 2011. The reviews will be a collaborative process with input from Providers and stakeholders. Once any reconfiguration is decided we will make a public announcement as soon as possible.
The new MAASH IT system
The new MAASH IT system continues to be in development. It is expected that the new system will go live at the end of May 2010.
Additional funding
Supporting People in Merthyr Tydfil has been lucky enough to be allocated some additional funding to spend on services this year. As a result the SP team will be looking to map gaps in services based on our need data in order to inform planning groups about what service areas the additional money should be spent on.
SPOP
The annual Supporting People Operational Plan (SPOP) includes information about all the needs data collected each year and about the types of support services offered in Merthyr Tydfil, the number of places and their turnover.
