Managing Access to Adapted and Supported Housing What is Managing Access to Adapted and Supported Housing (MAASH)?
MAASH is a centralised computer-based system designed to refer and allocate housing-related support to service users across Merthyr Tydfil County Borough. Run by the Supporting People team, the MAASH system keeps records of service user’s information in order to match the most suitable support to the applicant.
Aim of MAASH
The main aim of MAASH is to provide a unified referral and allocation system for all locally provided supported housing and floating support services. This means that, instead of having lots of different referral processes in Merthyr Tydfil County Borough we have one system that everybody uses with information stored in one place. This encourages partnership working across the County Borough and service users’ housing related support needs are met more quickly, effectively and efficiently. The Project has also developed an accessible housing register that can match households with mobility problems to appropriate housing.
What does it achieve?
All the major referral agencies and support providers who work in Merthyr Tydfil County Borough have signed up to the MAASH process. This means that:
• referral agencies fill in MAASH 1 registration forms for service users
• MAASH stores their information
• support agents provide the Supporting People team with information on vacancies in their support programmes
• Supporting People funded services are accessible only through MAASH.
• the Supporting People team provide summarised information to the planning groups on what different needs have been registered so they can plan services to meet those needs.

The MAASH project will benefit you if you are in need of supported housing or floating support services or know anyone who could benefit from this service.
