Events

    The Hero Fortress of Brest. Belarus and the War on the Eastern Front, 1941-5.

    6th-12th September

    This photograph exhibition tells the story of Brest Fortress.  When Hitler invaded the Soviet Union the fort held out for over a month when the Germans had expected to capture it within hours.  In recognition of this it was awarded the title of Hero Fortress.  Today it is a memorial to the fallen in Belarus.

    An exhibition comparing one of the greatest British artists with his Merthyr Tydfil born contemporary, ‘the Welsh Turner’.  Includes pictures on loan from the Tate.
