  • The Local Transport Plan for Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council details the transport requirements of the borough and shows the links with socio-economic deprivation.

The Welsh Assembly Government in the year 2000 required all Unitary Authorities in Wales to produce a Local Transport Plan (LTP).  This Plan is intended to outline how each Authority intends to deliver its local transportation services through a set of policies and programmes over a period of 5 years up to 2005.   The Authority was also required to produce an Annual Progress Report in 2002 and annually thereafter up to 2005.

The Local Transport Plan for Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council and the Annual Progress Reports carried out in 2002, 2003 2004 and 2005 can be viewed here.  As well as detailing all local transport, and the way in which the transport requirements of the borough need to be addresses,  the  plan details the links with socio-economic deprivation.
