Library special needs

Home Library Service

We offer a “Special Needs” home service to housebound users or their carers, with currently about 170 members. We hope to extend and expand the service in collaboration with suitable volunteers and partners.

Once a borrower registers, we deliver books and audio books once a month. We can also provide information during visits, by post or e-mail.

Other Collections

We have large collections of books in large print and unabridged audio books.

We also have a large collection of graded readers for a range of reading levels.

If we don’t have what you need, we would be grateful if you could suggest new stock to fill any gaps in our collection of books.

If you have significant sight loss we hope to offer you some good choices with our collection of audio books, including the new digital download service offering well over 600 titles in addition to what you will find in the library buildings.

Computer and Internet Services at all Libraries

All libraries offer free computer and Internet access.

Monitors with 17” and 19” screens are generally available.

Mobile Libraries

The two Mobile Library vans have either a wheelchair ramp or a low rear step.
