MTCBC took over the enforcement of parking restrictions for on street contraventions on the 11th January 2012. With a key aim of targeting traffic congestion, road safety and general nuisance caused by inconsiderate motorists.

During this time The South Wales Partnership Group (SWPG) was formed. The Partnership includes MTCBC and Rhondda Cynon Taff (RCT). It aims to work closely together to ensure that the parternship reflects the views of the customer it services.
