Several forms of traffic calming measures are used throughout the County Borough to control the speed of traffic and to improve the safety of all classes of user. These range from road hump schemes to 20 mph zones and homezones.

The Council receives many requests for traffic calming measures and the Traffic Management Section therefore prioritises all requests in accordance with Council policy.
