Data Protection Requests

In order to complete a Subject Access Request please complete the Data Protection Request form.

Before the Council processes a subject access request, we will need to receive the following forms of identification and a processing fee from the requestor:

  • Photographic ID (either driving licence or passport)
  • Recent utility bill or a letter to confirm the address

The Council accepts photocopies of the above forms of identification. Proof of identification is required in order to avoid any third party receiving personal information that they are not entitled too.

The request will not be processed until the identity checks have been carried out. The Council has 1 calendar month to respond to a subject access request.

Once the information has been received by the requestor, the legislation gives individuals a right to have any inaccuracies corrected or the personal information erased where it is no longer appropriate for the Council to keep it.

The Data Disclosure and Records Officer is responsible for the processing of all requests submitted under the General Data Protection Regulations.

For further information on how to submit a subject access request please see the Subject Access Request Policy.

The Information Commissioners Office is responsible for producing guidance that relates to requests for information. Please visit the Information Commissioners website for further information https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/
