I would like information regarding graffiti in the borough and town centre since 01 01 2020 How many times it has been reported since 0101 20 20 How many meetings or conversations have been held regarding these issues since? How many reports have been by both public and MTBC employees / officers since? What actions have been taken? What actions have been taken regarding Grafitti on heritage and listed buildings in the borough? How many times has the council reported heritage crime to SW Police? Recently in the new skate park at Rhydycar , Grafitti was I believe commissioned by the council from the artist ‘RKH’ I wish to know the cost of this to the town, who made the decision to commission and the contact details of RKH held by the council. Similarly, the same information regarding the work completed by T 2 sugars for the bicentenary of Cyfarthfa Castle at the new paved area opposite the Civic centre. What is the council’s policy for maintaining road traffic signs and bus stop shelters? Why are they not maintained ? How much does it cost to fully renovate a bus shelter after a Grafitti attack where repainting and replacement of new perspexpanels is required? How many times has the council contacted SW Police regarding the investigation of Grafitti damage in the area?

Unknown as we do not record this information, if there are issues departments will advise the Councils Community Safety Team however, we do not record the number of meetings that have taken place. 3. How many reports have been by both public and MTBC employees / officers since? 118 reports in total since 01/01/2020 4. What actions have been taken? Graffiti has been cleansed on council owned land. 5. What actions have been taken regarding Grafitti on heritage and listed buildings in the borough? None 6. How many times has the council reported heritage crime to SW Police? We have no records of any heritage crime being reports to South Wales Police. However, residents may have reported these issues to the police directly and as such you may wish to contact South Wales Police to access this information. 7. Recently in the new skate park at Rhydycar , Grafitti was I believe commissioned by the council from the artist ‘RKH’ I wish to know the cost of this to the town, who made the decision to commission and the contact details of RKH held by the council. This was not a commissioned project. An existing mural to a skater who passed away was on the old skate park and was kept secure ready to be placed back on the new one. However, the original artist asked about doing a new one and was put in touch with the contractors to do so. As a good will gesture MTCBC, via the Sport Development department, funded £300 from external funding, to support with the painting materials so there was no cost to the local authority. The original mural was delivered to parents of the individual in the mural by the LA also. 8. Similarly, the same information regarding the work completed by T 2 sugars for the bicentenary of Cyfarthfa Castle at the new paved area opposite the Civic centre. In relation to the Cyfarthfa bicentenary, this was commissioned by The Cyfarthfa Foundation not MTCBC. 9. What is the council’s policy for maintaining road traffic signs and bus stop shelters? Why are they not maintained ? Highway Inspectors will inspect road traffic signs for safety defects. Signs are repaired or replaced if required. Due to budget cuts there is no longer a maintenance budget for bus stop shelters therefore any existing vandalised or damaged shelters are being removed and not replaced. 10. How much does it cost to fully renovate a bus shelter after a Grafitti attack where repainting and replacement of new perspexpanels is required? There is no standard cost as it depends on the level of damage and repairs required. 11. How many times has the council contacted SW Police regarding the investigation of Grafitti damage in the area? There are no records of the Council contacting South Wales Police regarding Graffitti damage. However, residents may have reported these issues to the police directly and as such you may wish to contact South Wales Police to access this information.
