People who like to walk, run or cycle on Merthyr Tydfil’s fabulous trails will now be able to see just how far they’ve travelled without the aid of technology.
You won’t need a Garmin or Fitbit to trace your progress on sections of the Taff Trail, thanks to boulders marking the kilometres along two new designated routes.
The Council’s Active Merthyr team and Rights of Way department have developed the routes to encourage residents to make the most of them while also getting active.
There’s a six-kilometre route from Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Centre to Aberfan Community Centre and a 4k route starting on the Taff Trail in Cefn-coed-y-cymmer, heading north towards Ffynnon Dwyn, Pontsarn. Both are gentle, peaceful and suitable for all abilities.
Active Merthyr would love to see pictures of you enjoying the trails. Tag us - @Activemerthyr on Facebook or twitter.
