Residents aged over 50 are being invited to hear about an innovative project aimed at combatting social isolation by helping form local physical activity groups.

Merthyr Tydfil 50+ Forum is holding its next meeting at 10am on Monday 2 March at High Street Baptist Church Hall, where guest speaker Brendan Hopkins will be talking about the ‘Super-Agers’ initiative, a Welsh Government-funded joint Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf project.

The other guest speaker is Stephanie Davies, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf Digital Inclusion Advisor with Digital Communities Wales, which works to help people gain fundamental digital skills.

The Forum is designed to represent the rights and views of people aged 50+ across the county borough, to challenge age discrimination, to consult with and inform people aged 50+ on matters of interest to them and to help tackle loneliness and isolation.
